Meet our Next Generation Ambassadors
Chrystabel Blankson-Hermans
Chrystabel is an aspiring solicitor who discovered her passion for law through the LTSB Social Mobility Bootcamp. After facing disrupted A-level studies during COVID and challenges with mental health, she initially pursued a different degree before finding herself working in retail and reassessing her path. Without traditional networks or legal connections, Chrystabel has shown resilience in redefining her direction. She joins Be The Ladder to gain experience, build confidence, and support others who feel overlooked—proving that potential is not defined by starting point.
Kate Cilliers
Kate is a law student at Bournemouth University currently undertaking a legal placement at Moore Barlow. Originally from South Africa, she moved to the UK just before the pandemic, facing isolation and cultural change. After not securing her intended university place, she rebuilt her confidence and identity from the ground up. Through her placement, she has rediscovered her belief and voice. Passionate about tackling educational inequality, Kate is driven to use her journey to inspire others and ensure opportunity is not limited by background.
Julius Bayrante
Julius is a final-year Law with Politics student at Royal Holloway. After being told he was not academically strong enough to pursue law, he defied expectations—improving his grades and securing his place at university. Alongside academic pressures, he has faced confidence challenges and anxiety, yet continues to push himself into new environments. Through experiences with organisations such as NRG Lawyers and Inspire Law, Julius has developed a passion for creating opportunities for others. As a Be The Ladder Ambassador, he is committed to proving that belief, determination, and support can transform outcomes.
Emily Willis
Emily is a second-year law student at the University of Southampton with a strong commitment to community impact. Having faced confidence challenges from school experiences, alongside mental health struggles and navigating life as an autistic young person, Emily has worked hard to rebuild her self-belief. Inspired by mentorship and supportive networks, she now embraces her individuality as a strength. As a Be The Ladder Ambassador, Emily is passionate about helping others access opportunities, particularly within schools and local communities, ensuring no one feels unseen or unsupported.
Roman Agyeman
Roman is a Business Management and Entrepreneurship student at the University of Roehampton. Having spent much of his childhood in Ghana before returning to the UK, he has navigated cultural transitions and the challenge of redefining his ambitions after moving away from a passion for football. Through self-reflection, Roman has focused on aligning his career with his strengths as a people-oriented individual. He recognises the impact of external voices on confidence and ambition, and joins Be The Ladder to expand his network, empower others, and encourage individuals to define success on their own terms.
Saif Hassan
Saif is a final-year law student at the University of Roehampton, aspiring to a career at the Bar. With a multicultural upbringing across Ireland and Canada and a South Asian heritage, he has experienced challenges around confidence and a sense of belonging. Despite these barriers, he is determined to redefine perceptions of what is possible. Saif joins Be The Ladder to contribute his perspective, support others facing similar doubts, and help create tangible, lasting change in how opportunity is seen and accessed.
